More than 3,000 international school students took part in the INTO HSE International Olympiad, whose award ceremonies were held in Tashkent and Bishkek in March 2026. The university’s outreach events also included final examinations, presentations of academic programmes, and on-site selection tests for prospective applicants. In Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, nearly 200 participants received diplomas as winners and prize-winners. The best of them will be eligible to apply for state-funded places at HSE.

Cui Jincheng, a Chinese HSE master's student, shares his journey of adapting to life in Russia, highlighting the importance of learning basic Russian, embracing cultural differences, and actively participating in university life. He advises future applicants to prepare honestly, build a support network, and seize extracurricular opportunities, as the rewards of stepping out of one's comfort zone far outweigh the challenges.

On February 18, 2026, a celebration of Chinese New Year was held in the central atrium of the Pokrovka building. The festive programme showcased the rich traditions of the holiday, including dance and violin performances, folk games, and a tea ceremony. The event was organised by HSE University's Chinese Culture Club and the Support and Career Centre for International Students and Alumni.
