Jazmin Quevedo Cascante, a native of Bolivia, graduated this year from HSE Preparatory Year Programme and is currently pursuing her Master’s in the Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation. She came to HSE with plans to eventually work in an international environment where she can have a positive impact on society.

Although it took some time to adjust initially, after only a short period studying in HSE’s Applied Social Psychology programme, Ghana native Ebenezer Yao Wepari is certain that attending HSE has been among the best decisions he has made in life.

Elena Koleva was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and studies psychology at HSE. She not only masters the depths of psychology, but also actively participates in the HSE Extreme Sports Club. Elena says this club and its activities were one of the decisive factors in her choosing to study at HSE.

Michelle Eggen is a fourth year student from The University of New Mexico , Albuquerque. Her major is international studies. But this semester she is at Higher School of Economics - Nizhny Novgorod studying Russian language and English literature. She loves writing stories, singing, and reading.

On Saturday, December 3, HSE participated for the first time in the Career and University Fair at Lycée Français Alexandre Dumas de Moscow.

Since the beginning of this academic year, Marika Sharashenidze has been a research intern at theLaboratory of Sociology in Education and Science (LSES) in St. Petersburg.

In late October 2016, an HSE delegation visited Mongolia to hold HSE Days in Ulaanbaatar.

Doctoral schools provide an opportunity for international doctoral students to undertake part of their study or research at HSE. The university offers two types of traineeships – research and study. The study stay involves taking courses from the HSE doctoral schools. The research stay offers the opportunity to work with a particular academic advisor or at an international research laboratory or centre; gain access to international full-text and abstract databases, journals and books; and attend graduate seminars.

On November 1, applications opened for 2017 admissions to undergraduate and graduate programmes at HSE. This year, a new online application system has been introduced to simplify the procedure for international applicants.

On October 18^th, 2016,  the opening ceremony of the master’s programme ‘Global Business’ was held at HSE Nizhny Novgorod. Representatives from the three partner universities took part in the event.
