The results of the 2021/22 international admissions campaign were presented at the recent meeting of the HSE University Academic Council. Despite the COVID-19 restrictions, 2,055 students from 156 countries enrolled this year at HSE University.

Stephen Deduck, from New Jersey, USA, enrolled at HSE University after spending a study-abroad semester in St. Petersburg. Having earned degrees in International Relations and Energy, Tulio Bunder from Brazil wanted to pursue his research in Eurasian Energy Geopolitics, which led him to the Master's programme in Comparative Politics of Eurasia. Though based in another BRICS country, he decided to study in Russia—and despite the challenges posed by the pandemic and his long-distance relationship with Saint Petersburg and HSE University, he seems happy with his choice.
Parisa Esmaeilkhani, from Iran, and Anshuman Sharma, from India, are currently studying in HSE University’s English-taught Master’s programmes. HSE University’s online Master of Data Science programme trains specialists in contemporary data analysis, machine learning development, and research. The applications are accepted until July 19. Students of the programme hail from over 30 countries including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, India, the USA, Canada, China, Japan, Germany, Great Britain, and Switzerland. Maria Belousova, an applicant from Uzbekistan, will become a first-year student at HSE University in autumn 2021. She will study at the HSE University Moscow campus in the School of Foreign Languages. ‘Up and Ahead’: Students in New Master's Programme to Study Psychometrics and Developmental Sciences
Enrolment is underway for the HSE Institute of Education’s new Master's programme, Science of Learning and Assessment, which was developed at the intersection of developmental science, advanced methods of neuroscience and psychometrics, and the theory and practice of testing and measurement. Students will learn to assess human development and adjust the learning process, relying on evidence-based approaches of neuroscience and current concepts of measuring skills, personality characteristics, competencies, and other complex constructs.
