In 2022/23, HSE University will be offering 45 English-taught master’s programmes in a variety of fields ranging from maths and economics to social sciences and humanities. International admissions are open until August 15, 2022 but early-bird applications will be eligible for full-tuition scholarships. Several first-year master’s students have shared their experiences of getting into the university and starting their studies.

Applications are still open for the Study Tour Experience, an international programme for international students who are considering applying for HSE master’s programmes this year. Participants (who will be selected as part of a competition) will be able to attend lectures and seminars at HSE University from February 21 to March 5. Participation is free of charge.

In December 2021, the HSE ISSEK English-language Master’s programme in Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation became one of three HSE University management programmes to receive European accreditation by the European Foundation for Management Development. We spoke to Dirk Meissner, the academic supervisor of the programme, about the significance of European accreditation, the programme’s unique opportunities for students, and student engagement in research.

Leticia Ines and Alejandro Perna first met in a Russian lesson in Buenos Aires. Now, eight years later, they are studying together in HSE University’s Preparatory Year programme. They spoke to the News Service about how their love for Russian language and culture brought them together and led them to enrol at HSE University, what their classes are like, and where they see their careers going after they complete their studies in Moscow.

HSE University is set to significantly update its range of bachelor’s and master’s programmes for the next academic year, with changes coming to course content and various organizational aspects of the educational process. HSE University Vice Rector Sergey Roshchin spoke about the changes that await students joining the university in the 2022/23 academic year.

Aleena Khan, from Pakistan, is currently pursuing a master's in Comparative Social Research at HSE University, Moscow. Despite studying online in the first semester, she already feels part of the HSE student community. Many international students choose HSE University as their academic mobility destination. HSE University offers a wide range of online and in-person preparatory programmes for international students, including various Russian language courses for future Bachelor’s and Master’s students, intensive Maths training in Russian, and an English-taught course in Economics. Students come from all over the world, drawn to HSE by the strength of its international reputation and education quality. Several students of this year’s cohort have shared their impressions of the Prep Year programme.

International students are welcome to submit their applications to HSE University via the convenient online application platform. Personal consultations with the Admissions Office are available to help applicants make the right choice and prepare all the necessary documents. There is a wide range of degree programmes to choose from, including English and Russian-taught programmes as well as online and in-person degree options offered by all four HSE University campuses.
