Master’s programme in Financial Economics of HSE’s International College of Economics and Finance is taught entirely in English and strives to attract applicants who are interested in macro and microeconomics, corporate finance, and econometrics. Maxim Nikitin, the head of the programme has talked to HSE News Service about the programme.
Admissions
Applications are being accepted until October 30 for the Semester in Moscow programme, which allows international students to spend either a semester or a full academic year at HSE. The programme is open to all international students who wish to apply to study at HSE on a fee-paying basis.
August 5 marked the final deadline for applications from international students to HSE English-taught Master’s programmes starting September 2015. This year saw a radical growth in applications from abroad, with more than five times the number of applications from last year. At a minimum, every region doubled in terms of applications when comparing the 2015 cycle to the 2014 cycle. In Africa and Asia, the increase was even more staggering. Out of the roughly 800 international applicants to HSE English-taught Master's programmes, 196 students were accepted. The growth in the number of full-degree international students studying HSE is fundamental to the university’s overall development as a global university.
The Higher School of Economics has extended the admissions deadlines for fee-paying places on its master’s programmes until August 5th, 2015.
This year, HSE’s English-language Master’s Programme in the Governance of Science, Technology, and Innovation will admit its second class to the programme. Students will learn to manage technologies and innovations effectively at all stages of the process, from inception to implementation and at the corporate, regional, national, and international levels. This is undoubtedly an extremely prospective area of study, but this is not the only reason to apply to the programme.
‘The University of Passau is the youngest HEI in Bavaria but has earnt itself a good reputation since it opened in 1978,’ says Svetlana Maltseva, Academic Supervisor of the Master’s programme in Big Data Systems. ‘For more than ten years the university has occupied a leading position in German and European rankings in Law, Management and International Relations.’
This year government funding is available for twenty places (4 times more than usual) on the Education and Pedagogical Sciences course at the HSE Postgraduate Institute of Education. Entry exams are in September but 15th May is the deadline for sending in a portfolio to increase your chances of getting a place. Here is a brief description of the course.
Starting this year, students in the ‘International Business’ Master’s programme will receive two diplomas: a Russian state-recognized Master's degree in ‘Management’ with a specialization in ‘International Business’ from the Higher School of Economics and a Master of International Business (MIB) from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina (USA).
The Academic Supervisor of the Population and Development master’s programme, Vladimir Kozlov, has answered key questions about the programme, which will admit its first students in 2015.
Beginning in September 2015, the International Institute of Administration and Business at HSE will launch a new English-language Master in International Business programme. In less than half a year, this professional training programme will enable participants to learn how to manage a business in an international environment. An Open House for the programme will be held on April 25.
