Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) has cancelled a 2-week quarantine for international students arriving in Russia. Starting from February 18, foreign students who were already enrolled in HSE University will be able to arrive to Russia and start their studies (in case they are allowed to cross the border).

Jingtao Xu, a second-year student from China, is pursuing his Bachelor’s in Data Science and Business Analytics, a double degree programme between HSE University and the University of London. In an interview with HSE News Service, he describes the hard and soft skills he has gained at HSE, as well as the ups and downs of studying online. He also told us about his favourite places in Moscow.

HSE News Service spoke with Trang Pham, from Hanoi, who is currently studying at the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs.

Rashid Mustafin came to the Moscow campus of the HSE University from Aksu, Kazakhstan. He is currently in his third year studying Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication in the Faculty of Humanities. To attend HSE University, the girl moved from Pavlodar — a small city in north-eastern Kazakhstan where she was born and raised. Every October, HSE University sums up the results of that year’s international student admissions campaign. This year, due to the pandemic, the University quickly reorganized admissions procedures and began holding all events and consultations remotely.
