After completing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering in his native Delhi, India, Shashank Pant began searching for a Master’s programme that would provide a balance between management and science. HSE’s Governance in STI programme turned out to be what he was looking for as he prepares for an eventual career in innovation at a multinational corporation.

Double-degree programme is launched on ICEF MSc ‘Financial Economics’. Starting from 2017/2018 intake, ICEF students can obtain a second Master’s Degree in Economics and Finance from LUISS University (Rome, Italy). Partner universities each award two individual qualifications upon completion of the collaborative programme requirements.

In March 2017, International Olympiad Competitions will be held for perspective students interested in studying in Master’s programmes at HSE University. All current undergraduate students and recent university graduates students interested in pursuing a Master’s degree are invited to participate.

In 2016, HSE – St. Petersburg’s master's programme in Finance was included among a prestigious consortium of European universities on the International Masters in Economy, State, and Society (IMESS) project, thus opening new avenues for cooperation between HSE and well-known universities across Europe. Professor Elena Rogova, Dean of HSE St.Petersburg School of Economics and Management and Academic Supervisor of the programme, has talked to HSE News Service about its distinguishing features and the benefits it offers.

Participation in student organizations is an important part of life at HSE. There are about 80 different communities engaged in almost all kinds of activities, from dancing to parliamentary debates. People can also try to do their part and join a charity.

HSE launches its new graduate programme, Comparative Politics of Eurasia. To understand just why Russian and international students and academics are taking notice, we spoke with Academic Supervisor, Dr. Dmitry Goncharov, who shows how the demand for specialists is pushing growth in this field.

HSE’s Preparatory Year trains international students with little or no knowledge of Russian before they begin Russian-taught full-degree programs. Over 10 months of intensive study, students improve their language skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing), study in a chosen academic field (humanities, economics, or engineering), and adapt to the new educational environment. Upon completing the Preparatory Year, students are expected to possess intermediate-level Russian language skills and be ready to enter Russian-taught full-degree programmes at HSE and other Russian universities.
