In its 25th anniversary year, HSE has marked new achievements, entering the Top 50 in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings among universities under 30 years old, and in the Top 100 in the global Young University Rankings under 50. HSE has become the first Russian university to enter the top list of THE Young Universities, a global institutional ranking.

HSE is among the leaders in 8 out of 35 indicators in the latest U-Multirank ranking, including student mobility, graduate entrepreneurial activity, and income from continuous professional development.
HSE has become one of three Russian universities to receive maximum points for the implementation of the Russian Academic Excellence Project. These results were announced following a meeting of the Council on Enhancing the Competitiveness of Leading Russian Universities among the Global Rresearch and Education Centres.
Angelina Volosevich, Marina Goncharenko, Tamerlan Tuaev and Malika Shaikhutdinova, first-year students from the 'Strategic Corporate Finance' Master’s programme have won ‘Oliver Wyman Impact 2017’, a business case competition that was held on March 3rd at the Ararat Park Hyatt Hotel, Moscow.
For Vietnamese students, studying abroad in Western countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, or Australia is a popular trend nowadays. Giang Dinh, a student at HSE’s Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, believes that receiving an education in Russia, particularly at HSE, is one of the best choices a student can make. Anna Zotova, a recent graduate of the Master’s programme in Global Business at HSE Nizhny Novgorod, spent the second year of her studies in Austria where she has undertaken several internships, including her current one at Tannpapier, an international company that manufactures paper for cigarettes. The company has nine offices around the world, as well as a plant in Pskov, Russia.
Christian Fröhlich is Assistant Professor at the School of Sociology who has been at HSE since 2014. He also supervises an English-taught Master’s Programme ‘Comparative Social Research’. The Higher School of Economics has made it onto 13 subject and two subject area rankings in the QS World University Ranking thanks to the university’s achievements as part of the Project 5-100. In addition, HSE was in the top 100 ranking for three subjects – Economics & Econometrics, Politics & International Studies, and Sociology – and it was the only Russian school in the Accounting & Finance 101-150 ranking. As for total number of subject rankings, HSE was third in Russia.
