Ulyana Rusetskaya of Belarus is in her first year at the HSE Art and Design School. She entered HSE University by winning the HSE Global Scholarship Competition (GSC) for foreign citizens in the area of design. Ulyana spoke with the HSE News Service about how to prepare a project for the GSC and how the HSE community differs from other university communities. Among Russian universities, HSE University has the second highest number of subjects to be included in the Shanghai subject ranking (Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2020). HSE University and ITMO University, respectively, are included in 7 subject rankings, while Moscow State University is represented in 12 subject rankings.

The deadline for international fee-paying applicants to receive an extra 5% tuition discount in addition to their grants and scholarships has been extended until June 30. Here's how Fall 2020 applicants can receive an additional discount for their studies at the undergraduate or graduate level.

In 2019, HSE University opened a Faculty of Chemistry, which offers a new bachelor’s programme in Chemistry. The Faculty of Urban and Regional Development, meanwhile, has opened a new bachelor’s programme in Urban Planning. The HSE University and Kyung Hee University double degree programme ‘Economics and Politics in Asia’ is currently enrolling students. Its academic supervisor, Denis Shcherbakov, spoke about the advantages of the programme, internships at Asian universities and companies, as well as the new focus on Southeast Asia.

Maria Fay earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Informatics from HSE University (2013). Today, she works at SAP and is in charge of innovation projects in Central and Eastern Europe. She recently earned her PhD from the University of Liechtenstein. Maria has talked with the HSE News Service about combining education, work, and research.

Students who have been accepted to the HSE bachelor’s programmes in ‘Law’ and ‘Private Law’ may simultaneously enroll in the second degree programme at the University of London to supplement their basic training. The second degree programme is also open to external students and working professionals.

Starting on May 20, international students planning to apply to Bachelor’s and Specialist programmes at HSE University can register for the Global Scholarship Competition 2020.

This year, the HSE Faculty of Law is launching new extended programmes in Common Law, for which graduates will receive a degree from the University of London. These programmes are open for first-year students, as well as for other students and professionals.
