Scholarships for graduate programmes
HSE offers a wide range of tuition fee scholarships to international applicants who are not eligible for Russian government scholarships.
Please note that scholarships cover only the cost of tuition and that all other costs (including accommodation at HSE dormitories) must be covered by the student. Information about the estimated cost of living can be found here.
Important! No scholarships are available for Master's programmes that are offered on a fee-paying basis only (with no state-funded places).

Applied Social Psychology (online) - 65 minimum score for portfolio application.
Population and development, Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication - 65 minimum score for scholarship application.
Data Science - 70 minimum score for scholarship application.
Integrated Communications, Data-Driven Communication, Communications in the Public Sector and NGOs, Math of Machine Learning - 75 minimum score for scholarship application.
System and Software Engineering - 85 minimum score for scholarship application.
*The size of the grant offered to international students shall be fixed and granted to foreign nationals for the entire duration of their studies. However, each year it will be necessary to confirm this with good academic performance.
This means that a recipient should meet the following requirements:
- not be subject to disciplinary action in the form of reprimand;
- upon completion of each and any interim assessment (after retakes), he/she should not have grades lower than 4 (on a 10-point grading scale);
- he/she should have no more than two grades 4 and/or 5 (on a 10-point grading scale).
Please note that a foreign national may be granted only one scholarship at a time. Should a foreign national be eligible for more than one scholarship from the table, he/she may select only one scholarship at his/her own discretion.
